{"id":76,"date":"2019-01-26T08:52:31","date_gmt":"2019-01-26T14:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tech.my-netsol.com\/?p=76"},"modified":"2019-01-26T08:52:31","modified_gmt":"2019-01-26T14:52:31","slug":"access-point-rommon-recovery-ap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tech.my-netsol.com\/?p=76","title":{"rendered":"Access Point ROMMON Recovery AP:"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I recently tried to get an AP working that was having issues.&nbsp; To \nsingle out the OS or something else I blew away anything\/everything on \nthe FLASH: drive which renders it useless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WARNING Don&#8217;t try this unless you already have the recovery image or IOS handy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can use the following to force delete specific files or everything.\u00a0 Here is an example of a IOS file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>delete \/recursive \/force flash:\/ap1g1-k9w8-mx.153-3.JA5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and to delete the flash contents it&#8217;s:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>delete \/recursive \/force flash:\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">then type &#8220;reload&#8221; and it will reboot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will get errors &#8220;loading&#8221; files as they now gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the be left at a ap: prompt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will have to manual supply an IP address and info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>set IP_ADDR 10.191.x.x<\/strong><br><strong>set NETMASK 255.255.224.0<\/strong><br><strong>set DEFAULT_ROUTER 10.191.0.1<\/strong><br><strong>tftp_init<\/strong><br><strong>ether_init<\/strong><br><strong>flash_init<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then load up the flash:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This one is the full OS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>tar -xtract tftp:\/\/10.192.0.123\/ap1g1-k9w8-tar.153-3.JD3.tar flash:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This one is just the recovery OS, all the is really needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>tar -xtract tftp:\/\/10.192.0.123\/ap1g1-rcvk9w8-tar.153-3.JD3.tar flash:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/supportforums.cisco.com\/document\/56156\/access-point-rommon-recovery-ap-prompt-recovery-example\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently tried to get an AP working that was having issues.&nbsp; To single out the OS or something else I blew away anything\/everything on the FLASH: drive which renders it useless.
